Dearests,
Since I've joined children ministry, it has been a wonderful fruitful up riding and on-going learning trip for me. Honestly, I've never thought that I'm good with children. Though my mami always says that she is good with children so we as her daughters posses the same 'motherly' sense as hers.
I remembered Pa Gerald asked me if I can serve in ppH (PowerPraise House) that was the name of children ministry). He mentioned that James need people. It was on 20th March 2007. I have absolutely no idea what I was going to do. I was wondering if I 'qualify' (given all the common human doubts and fears). What if I say something and children don't listen to me? They point finger and they laugh at me? What if I can't 'click' well with them? What if this and what if that. Tons of 'What if'?
I must say I was rather on the low side..given all the circumstances that I was going through then. I went to God and said,"Lord, I have my weakness and You know each of them well. I really don't know what I can give and do for You. But even the smallest, tiniest thing I'm able to give and do, I will do it for You..for the glory of Your Kingdom. And I know that Your grace is more than enough for me. When I'm weak, You are strong. You will help me nonetheless."
So, without tagging much with God and my own heart, I replied Pa Gerald a positive answer.
And guess what? God gave me a surprise. In fact, He gave me another present! It was a few days later that I find out from James that he was looking for a worship leader. And worship has always been my passion! WOAH! (Like what Georgia would usually says.)
I am really joyful to be able to experience how to lead children into worship! My heart literally jumped out when James told me that! Hahahas!! :D
Then, it was about a year later God bless me with my first sheep - Nithya! And a few months later, Jean! WOAH!! HAHAHAS!! I was like..okay, God, I think this is enough for me. And a few months later, Uncle James asked if I would like to join the youth band and Jonathan asked if I would like to join the youth core group. You can imagine, it was indeed an overwhelming Saturday! Imagine all the "What if" flooding my mind again. Hahahas! :X
Backtracking a week before Uncle James asked me, Mami Esther came to our church. I was standing next to her. After all the praising and singing, she asked if I sang. I was frowning and looked at her..wondering what she was trying to ask. So I simply said that I did. Then she pointed at the stage and said to me. "You know what? You're going to be up there!" I was like.. O.o?! Why out of a sudden she mentioned that to me? She goes on to tell me to have patience and wait. One day I will be up there singing. I was like..oh, okay..*blink blink* (speechless for some moments).
Guess what? The next Saturday, Uncle James approached me! MAN!! I could never-ever-ever thought that whatever Mami Esther said was coming true and like so soon - the next week! I am so assured that God is a real living, listening God! I am overwhelmed. Overjoyed. Elated. Excited. SUPER DUPER WHEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!! AHAHAHAS!! >.<
And on top of that, God has given me a new opportunity. A new way to serve Him in our YaYA (Youth and Young Adult, youth ministry)!! Its,"WOAH WOAH" I thought!
Recently, God has open another opportunity for me. Actually even before anything, I already know the answer. I thought it would be good for me to hear directly from God. You know how I would love to have a double confirmation from God. So..yes! He did. He revealed to me in this devotion. :)
I was caught really..caught in between whether I want to give Him the best that He thinks I am capable of giving Him or the best that I think I am able to give. Though in the past, in whichever stage I was in, I always thought and felt that I gave the Lord my best. But really..
only God will know when we are giving Him our best. After all, He knows us better than we know ourselves and I really mean all the time.
So Lord,
Here I am Lord. Thank you Lord for testing my heart. Thank you Lord for reminding me that I should treasure you more than anything in my life. More than things, more than people, more than time. What is my sacrifice compare to Yours? It is never ever comparable.
Never. Thank you for blessing me with opportunities to learn and to serve You, my Highest King. I was just reminded of the black box that Jonathan once said I was in. I am so assured that I am out of that box, soaring on high with You..in freedom, in Spirit and in truth. Amen.
"I will go where You send me, Jesus take me now I am Yours..I am Yours..I lay my life on the altar, everything I give to You alone. Here I am! Here I am!"
What’s For Dinner?
10 Feb 2008, Tuesday
"My Daily Bread" Devotion"It came to pass . . . that God tested Abraham, and said to him, “Abraham!” And he said, “Here I am.” —Genesis 22:1
I can hardly imagine inviting special friends over for dinner and then throwing a few leftovers into the microwave to serve up to them. But if I were to do that, it would speak volumes about how I really feel about them.
Giving God the leftovers of our lives speaks volumes about His true worth to us. When God asked Abraham to give Isaac back to Him as an act of worship, Genesis 22:1 calls it a test.
A test to see if there was anything in his life that he treasured more than God.It’s no different for us. There are times when God requires something really important to get His work done. He’ll ask us to give up our natural instincts to seek revenge so that we can communicate His forgiving love by forgiving our enemies.
He may call us to sacrifice portions of our time or money or comforts to advance His cause. Or He may require us to allow our sons and daughters to go to a far-off land to tell others about His saving love.
The way we respond to what He requires says volumes about how we really feel about Him.Anyone can offer the leftovers.
Only those who love God more than anything else will serve up the very best for Him. — Joe Stowell
